What Is Kisspeptin-10? Benefits & Overview
Kisspeptin-10 is a 10-amino acid neuropeptide derived from the KISS1 gene and one of the most potent activators of the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal (HPG) axis available in Canada. By binding to the GPR54 (KISS1R) receptor, Kisspeptin-10 stimulates GnRH release, driving downstream LH and FSH secretion — making it a key tool for exploring reproductive hormone regulation, fertility biology, and testosterone axis research.
Loss-of-function mutations in GPR54 or KISS1 in humans cause hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, confirming Kisspeptin-10 as the HPG axis “gatekeeper.”
Kisspeptin-10 Benefits & Uses
- GPR54/KISS1R receptor signalling and GnRH pulse regulation
- LH and FSH pulsatile release studies
- Testosterone and sex steroid hormone axis models
- Reproductive endocrinology and fertility research
- Puberty onset and timing studies
- Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and hypothalamic amenorrhoea models
How Kisspeptin-10 Works
Kisspeptin-10 binds GPR54 receptors on hypothalamic GnRH neurons, activating Gq/11-PLC-IP₃ signalling to increase intracellular Ca²⁺ and stimulate GnRH secretion. This GnRH pulse drives anterior pituitary LH and FSH release, which in turn stimulates gonadal steroidogenesis (testosterone in males; oestrogen/progesterone in females). The Kisspeptin-GPR54-GnRH axis is also a key integration point for metabolic signals (leptin, insulin) and environmental cues that regulate seasonal and stress-related reproductive suppression.

Kisspeptin-10 Canada FAQs
What is the difference between Kisspeptin-10 and Kisspeptin-54?
Kisspeptin-54 is the full-length native peptide. Kisspeptin-10 is the minimal C-terminal fragment that retains full GPR54 agonist activity, with improved stability and easier synthesis. Both bind GPR54 with similar potency; Kisspeptin-10 is the standard research form.
How does Kisspeptin relate to testosterone research?
Kisspeptin-10 is the upstream HPG axis trigger: it drives GnRH → LH → testosterone. It is used to probe the HPG axis at the hypothalamic level, distinguishing central (GnRH/LH-related) from gonadal (testicular Leydig cell) causes of testosterone deficiency in research models.

Reconstitution & Dosing Guide
How to Reconstitute
Add 3.0 mL of bacteriostatic water to the vial. Inject the water slowly down the inside wall of the vial — do not inject directly onto the powder. Gently swirl until fully dissolved; do not shake. This yields approximately 3.33 mg/mL. Store the reconstituted vial at 4 °C and use within 28 days.
Low Starting Dose
- Dose per injection: 100 mcg — 3 units (0.03 mL) on a U-100 insulin syringe
- Frequency: Once daily, subcutaneous injection
- Cycle length: 8–12 weeks
Avoid extended continuous use; cycle on/off to maintain response.
Start at the lowest effective dose and adjust based on individual response. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
