Why Buy Tirzepatide?
Researchers buy Tirzepatide because it is the first peptide to switch on two gut-hormone receptors at once — GLP-1 and GIP. It is the active compound in Mounjaro (for type 2 diabetes) and Zepbound (for obesity). In the SURMOUNT-1 trial, the highest dose led to about 21% mean body-weight loss, more than older single-receptor peptides.[1]
Because it hits two receptors, it is a useful tool for studying how GLP-1 and GIP each add to weight, appetite, and blood-sugar control.
Benefits & Uses
Tirzepatide is studied for strong metabolic effects because it acts on two receptors at once. Research areas include:
- Dual GLP-1 and GIP receptor pharmacology research[1]
- Body weight and visceral fat reduction models[1]
- Glucose-driven insulin release and beta cell studies
- Appetite and satiety pathway research
- Insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes models
- Cardiovascular and lipid profile research
- Studies that separate GLP-1 from GIP signalling
How It Works
Tirzepatide works by turning on the GLP-1 and GIP receptors at the same time. GLP-1 signalling lowers appetite through the brain, boosts glucose-driven insulin release, and lowers glucagon. GIP signalling adds more insulin support and may ease the nausea that GLP-1 alone can cause. Together they produce more weight loss and better blood-sugar control than a maximally dosed GLP-1 peptide. In a head-to-head trial, it led to greater weight loss than Semaglutide.[2]

Buying research-grade Tirzepatide in Canada
Tirzepatide is a dual agonist of GIP and GLP-1, where the GIP arm is the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor. In published clinical research it is studied for weight management, body weight, appetite, and how it may regulate blood sugar levels, in models relevant to type 2 diabetes and obesity. Researchers frequently compare semaglutide or tirzepatide and, like Ozempic-class compounds, it acts on incretin signalling rather than a single receptor.
It is available from Reviv Peptides as a high-purity, research-grade lyophilized powder shipped online in Canada. Every vial is freeze-dried, must be refrigerated, reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, and third-party tested with a certificate of analysis for research peptides in Canada.
Regulatory note: Health Canada has not approved this compound as a health product. It is not the prescription medication Mounjaro or Zepbound and is not supplied for treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Tirzepatide the same as Mounjaro?
Yes, in compound. Mounjaro and Zepbound are Eli Lilly’s brand-name drug forms of Tirzepatide.
How does Tirzepatide compare to Semaglutide?
It leads to more weight loss. In the head-to-head SURMOUNT-5 trial, Tirzepatide produced greater weight loss than Semaglutide.[2] Its extra GIP action is thought to add insulin support and may improve how well it is tolerated.

Reconstitution & Dosing Guide
How to Reconstitute
Add 2.0 mL of bacteriostatic water to the vial. Aim the water slowly down the inside wall of the vial. Do not spray it straight onto the powder. Swirl gently until it fully dissolves. Do not shake. This gives about 5.0 mg/mL. Store the mixed vial at 4 °C and use within 28 days.
Low Starting Dose
- Dose per injection: 2.5 mg — 50 units (0.50 mL) on a U-100 insulin syringe
- Frequency: once weekly, subcutaneous (same day each week)
- Cycle length: 8–16 weeks (step up every 4 weeks)
Weeks 1–4 starting dose. Step up to 5 mg, 7.5 mg, then 10 mg as tolerated.
