What Is GHK-Cu? Benefits & Overview
GHK-Cu (Glycyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine Copper) is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide and one of the most extensively studied anti-aging peptides available in Canada. GHK-Cu regulates over 4,000 genes including those governing collagen synthesis, wound healing, angiogenesis, and anti-inflammatory responses — making it a cornerstone of skin rejuvenation, hair follicle regeneration, and connective tissue repair protocols.
Plasma levels of GHK-Cu decline with age — from ~200 ng/mL at age 20 to ~80 ng/mL by age 60 — correlating with reduced tissue repair capacity and increased signs of cellular ageing.
GHK-Cu Benefits & Uses
- Collagen (types I, III) and elastin synthesis upregulation
- Wound healing and skin barrier repair research
- Hair follicle stimulation and follicular biology studies
- Anti-inflammatory gene expression research (NF-κB suppression)
- Antioxidant response element (ARE) pathway activation
- Tissue remodelling and MMP regulation studies
- Nerve regeneration and neurite outgrowth models
How GHK-Cu Works
GHK-Cu acts as a cell-signalling molecule that modulates a broad gene network — studies by Pickart et al. identified GHK-Cu as capable of altering the expression of over 4,000 human genes, resetting them toward a healthier, younger expression profile. It binds copper(II) ions and delivers them to cuproenzymes required for collagen cross-linking (lysyl oxidase) and antioxidant defence (SOD). It also upregulates VEGF and FGF to stimulate angiogenesis and downregulates TGF-β1 to reduce fibrosis, producing a balanced wound repair response.

GHK-Cu Canada FAQs
What does GHK-Cu do in wound healing research?
GHK-Cu accelerates wound contraction, stimulates collagen and glycosaminoglycan synthesis, promotes angiogenesis via VEGF upregulation, and reduces fibrosis by downregulating TGF-β1 — producing cleaner, faster tissue repair in preclinical wound models.
Is GHK-Cu the same as a copper peptide serum?
Commercial copper peptide serums contain GHK-Cu as their active ingredient at cosmetic concentrations. Reviv Peptides supplies pharmaceutical-grade GHK-Cu for preclinical research — concentration, formulation, and purity are distinct from cosmetic products.
Is GHK-Cu available in Canada?
Yes. Reviv Peptides ships GHK-Cu 100 mg vials across Canada for licensed research use only.
Reconstitution & Dosing Guide
How to Reconstitute
Add 3.0 mL of bacteriostatic water to the vial. Inject the water slowly down the inside wall of the vial — do not inject directly onto the powder. Gently swirl until fully dissolved; do not shake. This yields approximately 33.3 mg/mL. Store the reconstituted vial at 4 °C and use within 28 days.
Low Starting Dose
- Dose per injection: 1.0 mg — 3 units (0.03 mL) on a U-100 insulin syringe
- Frequency: Once daily, subcutaneous injection (Mon–Fri, weekends off)
- Cycle length: 8–12 weeks, then 2–4 weeks off
Start at the lowest effective dose and adjust based on individual response. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
